Errors when you press Send
What each message means when you press Send on an invoice, quote or credit note, and how to fix it.
When Todah cannot send a document it tells you why, in the preview before you send or in a message after, and the document stays as it was so nothing is half done. Find your message below.
| The preview says "Nobody at … is set to receive invoices" and Send is greyed out | Nobody at the client is ticked to receive this kind of document. Open the client (Clients → Edit) and tick Invoices (or Quotes) beside their email, or add a person at the client who receives them, and choose Save Changes. Then choose Send again. A client whose own Email box is empty still receives documents when another person at the client is ticked. |

| This invoice is not linked to a client yet — open it, choose the client, and save. | The draft was saved with Bill To set to None. Choose Edit, pick the client under Bill To, choose Save Changes, then Send. Quotes show the same message for Prepared For. A credit note says "This credit note has no client yet — open it, choose the client, and save."; choose Edit on it and pick the Client. |
| Set your sending email in Settings before sending invoices. | Go to Settings → Email → Sending Address, fill in From Email (and From Name), and choose Save Changes. Quotes say the same with "quotes", and credit notes with "credit notes" ("Set your sending email in Settings before sending credit notes."). |
| This invoice is cancelled. Reopen it before sending it. | Choose Reopen Invoice first if it really is owed, or Duplicate it and send the copy. |
| Email isn't set up on the platform yet. | This message comes from Todah's side. Contact support and include the message. |
| Any other red message after Send | The email provider refused the message; the reason is shown. Check the address for typing mistakes and try again. If it keeps happening, contact support with the message. |
| Sent, but the PDF copy could not be produced | The email did go, with the invoice in the body and no PDF attached. If the client needs the file, choose Download PDF and send it to them. |
Good to know: Send is on drafts. A sent invoice has Resend instead; see the article on sending an invoice again.
