I can't edit a sent invoice
Why Edit is offered on drafts, and the right way to correct an invoice your client already has.
Once an invoice is sent, your client holds a copy. If it could change afterwards, there would be two versions of the same numbered invoice, which is how disputes start. So Todah keeps a sent invoice's figures as issued and offers Edit on drafts. Trying to change a sent one shows "Only a draft can be edited. Cancel and reissue this one if it needs to change." Quotes work the same way.
If the client should pay less
Create a credit note against the invoice for the difference and apply it. The original stays as sent and the balance goes down. Choose Send on the credit note to email it to the client.
If card payment should be off (or on)
That one setting can change after sending. On the invoice's row, open More actions and choose Turn Off Card Payment or Turn On Card Payment.
If something else is wrong (client, dates, lines, notes)
- In Invoices, on the invoice's row, open More actions, choose Cancel Invoice and confirm. It stays on record as Cancelled.
- On the same row, choose Duplicate. A new draft copy appears with the next number.
- Choose Edit on the new draft, fix what was wrong, set the Payment Terms or Due Date, and choose Save Changes.
- Choose Send. Tell your client the new invoice replaces the old number.
Good to know: A Paid invoice stays as paid. If a payment was recorded by mistake, an owner or admin can remove it in Payment History first (card payments that came through Stripe are refunded instead).
