Choose which bank accounts come in
Switch a connected account on or off, and clear out the untouched lines of an account you do not want.
One bank sign-in usually brings every account you hold at that bank: your business chequing, perhaps a savings account, a credit card, and sometimes a personal mortgage or RRSP. You decide which of them feed your books.
Step by step
- In the menu on the left, choose Banking.
- In the Bank Feeds card, under the bank's name, click "… of … accounts bringing in lines" to open the list (it is already open when there are four accounts or fewer).
- Tick an account to bring its lines in, or untick it to stop.
What happens when you switch an account on
Todah goes back to the bank and reads that account's history, then shows a message such as "Bringing in Business Chequing, 87 lines added". Lines you already have are not brought in twice, and lines you deleted on purpose stay deleted.
What happens when you switch an account off
- New lines from that account stop arriving.
- If the account already has lines that nobody has matched, ignored or reconciled, Todah asks whether to remove them too. Choose OK to remove them, or Cancel to keep them.
- Lines you have already matched, ignored or reconciled always stay. They are part of your books.
- Later, a Remove button next to a switched-off account lets you clear out its leftover untouched lines at any time. Todah asks you to confirm first. If you switch the account on again later, those lines come back with its history.
Tip: Keep personal accounts switched off. When you pay for something for the business from a personal account, record the bill in Bills instead. When you take money out of the business for yourself, categorise that withdrawal as an Owner draw.
