Auto-match bank lines
Let Todah match, in one go, every bank line whose amount points to exactly one invoice or bill.
Auto-match saves you clicking Match on the easy lines. It is deliberately cautious: it only matches when there is no doubt about which invoice or bill a line belongs to.
Step by step
- In the menu on the left, choose Banking.
- In the Transactions card, choose Auto-match.
- Todah asks "Auto-match every transaction that has exactly one document with the same amount?" Choose OK.
- A message tells you the result, for example "Matched 12 transaction(s). 3 had more than one possible match and were left for you to decide."
- Match the rest yourself with Match.
What it will and will not match
- It looks at every line nobody has dealt with yet. Ignored, reconciled and part-matched lines are left alone.
- A deposit is matched only if exactly one sent invoice still owes exactly that amount. Draft and cancelled invoices are never used.
- A withdrawal is matched only if exactly one unpaid bill still owes exactly that amount. For a part-paid bill, that is what is left after the payments already recorded.
- If two or more invoices or bills share the amount, the line is left for you, because the amount alone cannot say which one was paid.
- It does not split one line across several documents, and it does not pair transfers or categorise lines. Do those yourself.
Each match it makes works exactly like one you make yourself: payments are recorded on invoices and bills, and Payment Receipts go to clients if that email is switched on (and the payment is recent).
Tip: Check the Matched view afterwards. An exact amount is a strong hint, not proof. Unmatch anything that looks wrong.
