A tour of the Banking screen
Every card, list, filter and button on the Banking screen, and what each one is for.
In the menu on the left, choose Banking. The screen has three cards, from top to bottom: Bank Feeds, Import Bank Statement, and Transactions.
Bank Feeds
This is where you connect your bank so lines arrive on their own. What you see depends on your plan and set-up:
- On the Free plan you see "Bank feeds are part of Business and Enterprise (Settings → Plan & Billing)." with a reminder to import statements below instead.
- If two-step sign-in is not on for your own sign-in, you see "Connecting a bank needs two-step sign-in on your account." with a Set it up link.
- If two-step sign-in is on but you signed in this time without your authenticator code, you see a note asking you to sign out and back in first.
- Otherwise you see the Connect a Bank button.
Each bank you have connected gets its own row:
| Bank name and status label | Connected means lines are arriving normally. Sign-In Needed means the bank wants you to sign in again before more lines can come in. Needs Attention means the last check did not work; the reason shows in red under the row. |
|---|---|
| "… of … accounts bringing in lines" | Click it to open the list of accounts at that bank. Each account has a tick box: ticked means its lines come into Todah. Next to each account you see its type (Chequing, Savings, Credit Card and so on) and how many lines it has brought in, or "not imported" if it is switched off. |
| Remove … | Appears next to an account you have switched off that still has lines nobody has worked on. It deletes those lines. Lines you have matched, ignored or reconciled are never removed. |
| Last checked … · … lines brought in | When Todah last asked the bank for new lines, and how many lines this bank has brought in altogether. |
| Check Now | Asks the bank for new lines straight away instead of waiting for the next scheduled check. Shown when the status is Connected or Needs Attention. |
| Sign In to Bank Again | Shown when the status is Sign-In Needed or Needs Attention. It opens your bank's sign-in so the connection can carry on. |
| Disconnect | Stops this bank's lines arriving and removes the connection. Lines already brought in stay. |
Import Bank Statement
The file chooser, the Date Format drop-down and the Import button bring in a statement file. The line under the card title tells you what Todah can read: a CSV with date, description and amount columns, and, when reading statements is available, "A PDF or photo of a statement works too."
Add Manually opens the Add a Transaction window, where you type in one bank line yourself.
Under the buttons is a running summary of all your bank lines: how many lines in total, how many are matched, reconciled, still to do (with how many of those are part matched) and ignored, then the total in, the total out, and the net (in minus out). Ignored lines are not counted in the money totals, the same rule the balance sheet uses for your bank balance.
Transactions
The list of every bank line, newest first. At the top right of the card:
| Statement (first drop-down) | All statements shows every line. Pick one entry to work through one batch at a time. Each imported file is listed by its file name, each bank feed account by bank, account name and last digits, and lines you typed in as "Manual entry". The number in brackets is how many lines in that batch are still to do. |
|---|---|
| Show (second drop-down) | Needs attention (the default) shows lines nobody has dealt with yet, and lines that are only part matched. Matched shows lines that are accounted for. Ignored shows lines you set aside. Reconciled shows lines you ticked off against your statement. All shows everything. |
| Auto-match | Matches, in one go, every line that has exactly one invoice or bill with the same amount. You are asked to confirm first. |
You can also search the list by description or amount, narrow it to a date range, and show only deposits or only withdrawals.
The columns
| Date | The bank date, always written year-month-day (for example 2026-03-15), whatever format the bank used. |
|---|---|
| Description | What the bank calls the line. Once it is matched, a second line under it says what it was matched to, for example "Invoice INV-0012", "Bill from Shell", "Transfer to" and the other account's name, "Owner Draw" or "Card Payout". A part-matched line also says how much is still to match. |
| Type | Deposit (money in) or Withdrawal (money out). |
| Amount | The amount of the line. |
| Status | Unmatched, Matched, Part Matched, Reconciled or Ignored. See "What each bank line status means". |
The buttons on each row
The main action for the line's status sits on the row. When a row has more than two actions, the rest are under the three-dot More actions button at the end of the row, with Delete at the bottom.
| Match | On an Unmatched or Part Matched line. Opens the Match Transaction window. |
|---|---|
| Ignore | On an Unmatched line (under More actions). Sets it aside so it does not count. |
| Reconciled | On a Matched line. Ticks it off as checked against your bank statement. |
| Unmatch | On a Matched or Part Matched line (under More actions). Undoes the match and everything it recorded. |
| Undo Reconciled | On a Reconciled line. Takes the tick off and puts the line back to Matched. |
| Un-ignore | On an Ignored line. Puts it back in Needs attention. |
| Delete (bin) | Deletes the line after you confirm. Use it for a line that should not be there at all, such as a duplicate. |
When there are no lines at all, the list says "No transactions imported".
