Add a bank line by hand

Owner or admin

Type in a single deposit or withdrawal that never showed up in a statement file.

Use this for the odd transaction that is missing from your file or feed, for example a bank fee on a statement you only have on paper.

Step by step

  1. In the menu on the left, choose Banking.
  2. In the Import Bank Statement card, choose Add Manually. The Add a Transaction window opens.
  3. Fill in the boxes (see below).
  4. Choose Add. A "Transaction added" message appears and the line shows in Transactions, ready to match.

What each box means

DateThe date the money went in or out, as on your statement. It starts as today.
DirectionMoney in for a deposit, Money out for a withdrawal.
DescriptionWhatever helps you recognise it later, for example "Bank fee". If you leave it blank it is called "Manual entry".
AmountThe amount, without a minus sign. The Direction box decides whether it is in or out. Todah says "Enter an amount." if this is empty or zero.

Lines you add by hand appear under "Manual entry" in the Statement drop-down. To fix a mistake, delete the line (More actions → Delete) and add it again.
