Bank Ledger: every bank line with a running total
Business and up
A plain list of every bank line in the period, in date order, with a running total.
The Bank Ledger lists every deposit and withdrawal from your imported statements and bank feeds, oldest first, so you can follow the money line by line.
- In the menu on the left, choose Reports.
- Choose Accounting & Tax, then Bank Ledger.
- Pick the period at the top.
| Date | The date the bank gave the line. |
|---|---|
| Description | The bank's description. |
| Amount | Deposits are positive; withdrawals have a minus sign. |
| Balance | The running total from the first line shown. It starts at zero, so to compare it with your bank statement, start the period at your first imported line and add your opening bank balance. |
Good to know: All your bank accounts are listed together in one ledger. Lines you marked Ignored on the Banking screen are left out, as they are on Cash Flow and the Balance Sheet.
