The Dashboard explained

What every card, figure and chart on the Dashboard means, where each number comes from, and what you can click.

On this page

  • From top to bottom
  • Opening what is behind a figure
  • Why two figures can differ

The Dashboard is the page Todah opens on. It answers one question first: who owes you money, and how much of it is late. Choose Dashboard at the top of the menu to come back to it.

From top to bottom

Finish Setting UpOnly on a new workspace. Five set-up steps with a percentage, starting at 0%. It disappears when all five are done.
Automatic Client Emails Are OffOnly for owners and admins, until someone chooses Turn On or Keep Off.
The sentence at the topWhere you stand, in words. For example: You are owed $4,200.00 across 3 invoices. $1,100.00 of that is overdue on 1 invoice. If nothing is late it says Nothing is overdue and when the next payment is due. With nothing owed it says Nothing is outstanding, or, while you have no clients yet, Nothing counted yet.
ClientsHow many clients you have.
InvoicesHow many invoices you have, of every kind, drafts and cancelled ones included.
RevenueThe total of every invoice you have sent, since you started, including tax. Drafts and cancelled invoices are left out. It is what you have billed, not what has been paid.
OutstandingWhat clients still owe on invoices you have sent: each invoice's total minus what has been paid on it, added up.
TrendsShow Charts and Hide Charts switch the charts on and off. They start hidden, and Todah remembers your choice on this computer.
Money In and OutA column chart of the six most recent months that have any invoices or bills. Money In is what you invoiced that month before tax, from sent invoices, less any credit notes issued that month. Money Out is what your bills that month came to. Point at a column to see its amount.
Who owes you, by ageEverything still unpaid today, grouped by how late it is: Not Due Yet, 1 to 30 days, 31 to 60 days, 61 to 90 days and Over 90 days. Choose a row to open the Invoices page showing just those invoices.
Recent InvoicesYour six newest invoices with their number, client, status and total. The status is the same one the Invoices page shows, such as Overdue, Partially Paid or Disputed. With no invoices yet, a New Invoice button appears here.

Opening what is behind a figure

  1. Choose Show Charts.
  2. In Who owes you, by age, choose a row, such as 31 to 60 days.
  3. The Invoices page opens showing only the invoices in that row, with a note saying what is shown and how many.
  4. Choose Show All on that note to see every invoice again.

Why two figures can differ

  • Revenue counts invoices you have sent, including tax. Reports → Profit and Loss counts revenue before tax and takes off credit notes, for the period you choose. Both are right; they answer different questions.
  • Money In on the chart is what you invoiced, not what landed in your bank. Cash that actually came in is in Reports → Cash Flow, part of the full report pack.
  • Outstanding and the sentence at the top count what is still owed on each sent invoice. A credit note you have applied to an invoice reduces what it owes, so it reduces these too.

Tip: Everyone in the workspace sees the same Dashboard figures, members included.
