Choose how your invoices and quotes look

Owner or admin

Pick one of the document designs, preview it with your own logo and colours, and save it for every invoice, quote and statement you send.

Todah has a set of designs for the documents your clients receive. The design you choose is used on every invoice, quote and statement, in the email and in the PDF. Your logo, colours, address and footer note from Settings → Business are placed into whichever design you choose.

Before you start

  • You must be the owner or an admin. Members do not see the design card.
  • Add your logo and colours first in Settings → Business, so the previews show your real documents.

Step by step

  1. Choose Settings, then the Business tab.
  2. Scroll to the Invoice & Quote Design card. Each design is listed with its name and a short description. The one you use now is marked In Use.
  3. Choose a design. A preview opens, showing a sample invoice drawn in that design with your own logo, colours and address.
  4. Use Previous and Next, or the left and right arrow keys, to step through the designs.
  5. When you find the one you want, choose Select Design. The preview closes and that design is marked Unsaved in the list.
  6. Choose Save Design. The line above the button changes to Using, followed by the design's name.

The designs

ModernClean sans-serif, your brand colour across the table head. The default.
ProfessionalA brand rule down the side, tinted rows, quiet and precise.
SlateNear-black header with a thin band of your colour beneath it.
AuroraA deep brand-coloured block across the top with the total reversed out of it.
MinimalHairlines, white space and nothing else.
EditorialA large serif title, wide margins and thin rules.
WarmCream paper and soft brown-black ink.
ClassicA heavy rule across the top, serif type throughout.
LetterheadLogo and address centred at the top over a rule.
BlueprintEvenly spaced figures, capitals and a cool grey sheet.
LedgerAn accountant's page: ruled rows, columns of figures, no fills.
CompactSmall type and tight rows so a long itemised job fits on one page.
BoldA full-width band of your colour and an oversized title.
SidebarA brand-coloured column down the left carrying the amount due.
TradesBig type, heavy rules and a large boxed total that is easy to read anywhere.

In the preview

  • Your Logo marks where your logo will go, when you have not added one yet.
  • Client Logo marks where a client's own logo appears, for clients you have given a logo in their client record.
  • The sample uses made-up lines and amounts; only your business details are real.

Changing your mind

  • Before you save, Undo puts the selection back to the design in use.
  • After you save, choose another design and save again at any time.
  • A new design applies to documents you send or open from then on. Emails already sent are not changed.

Good to know: The design does not change the wording of your emails. Change that in Settings → Email → Message Templates.
