Forgot your password? Reset it
How to get a reset link by email and choose a new password, and what happens to your other sign-ins when you do.
If you cannot remember your password, Todah can email you a link to choose a new one. You need to be able to open the email address you sign in with.
Step by step
- Open the sign-in page and stay on the Sign in tab.
- Type your email address in the Email box. The link needs it before it can do anything.
- Choose Forgot your password? under the Sign in button. A line appears saying that if that email has an account, a reset link is on its way.
- Open the email from Todah called Reset your password and choose Choose a new password.
- On the page that opens, type a new password of at least 8 characters (the page says the exact number) in New password, and the same again in Confirm new password.
- Choose Set new password. The page says All set.
- Choose Sign in and sign in with your new password.
What happens next
- Every other place you were signed in, on any computer or phone, is signed out. Sign in again there with the new password.
- Any lock from too many wrong passwords is cleared.
- Resetting also confirms your email address, because the link reached you.
If something goes wrong
- Enter your email address first, then click again: you chose Forgot your password? with the Email box empty.
- No email arrives: check your spam or junk folder, and check you typed the address you signed up with. For your security Todah gives the same answer whether or not the address has an account.
- That reset link has expired: the link works for 2 hours. Ask for a new one from the sign-in page.
- That reset link is invalid or has already been used: each link works once. Ask for a new one.
- This link is missing its reset code: the link was cut short, often by an email program. Copy the whole link from the email, or ask for a new one.
- Those two passwords do not match: type the same new password in both boxes.
Good to know: If you already know your password and just want a new one, change it in Settings → Account & Security instead.
